Jerry Whaley is a internationally published writer, photographer and Getty Images contributor from Sevierville, Tennessee, who uses both digital & 4x5 large-format film cameras to capture the rich diversity of images in the Southern Appalachian region, especially the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Jerry considers this region a unique photographic treasure that he enjoys sharing with others through his images.
His work is marketed worldwide by several stock photography agencies & has appeared in Sierra Club Calendars, National Geographic Traveler, Blue Ridge Country, Outdoor Photographer, Southern Living, Peterson’s Photographic, Reiman’s Country, Backpacker, & many other books, magazines, postcards, calendars, prints and trade publications, such as the American Park Network's guides to various National Parks. His images can be found locally on several postcards & in several books published by the Great Smoky Mountains Association.
He is a regular presenter at the Wilderness Wildlife Week in Pigeon Forge, TN, a regular contributor to the Smoky Mountain Journal of Photography, and provides guide services and photographic training through the Smoky Mountain School of Photography, and through presentations to a variety of groups and camera clubs.
